Yes!!! I think like any other media outlet, the public becomes bored very easily. The reinvention of one's self, allows the public to see different sides of an actor. He is no longer type casted in certain roles. I notice that most porn actors in black videos are either bottoms or tops. Most tops in black video do not give oral. Most tops in video don't even acknowledge that the bottom has a penis. Besides a ruff fuck the fanasty ends. So as fans we try to guess what will they do next. Will they or won't they? Sexy. Just like when you do Take Them Down videos we buy them to see who will it be? And will you? The reason why some white porn stars have no standing power is because they tend to be created by the industry and have no sense of marketing themselves. Yes, absolutely, a flip flop with Diesel. You are both such macho tops that I dont think it would hurt your cred at all. Personally I think you should bottom sooner than later, because in truth no-one wants to see there fave star bottom for the first time when they are ( how can I put it ), well, past it !! and trust me, that DVD is gonna sell !!!
I feel anyone has staying power as long as you know how to market yourself and switch things up a bit. doing the same thing over and over again gets old...stale, if you will. And i think that's when fans tend to drift off and look for the next best thing. Same thing with the music industry. You may be able to produce this huge hit, and maybe follow up with another. But there comes a point wher eyou have to try new things in order to keep your audience interested and wanting more. I think some stars see a little bit of money and just do it for that. Where there are others that enjoy it so much that they'll try new ways to make it more entertaining. For example, Francois Sagat as someone else said tries new things and I remember seeing a bunch of photos of him in different costumes and set ups. Its interesting to see them do something other than...well, fucking. I'm not saying go super mainstream, but try other ventures besides the obvious. Do an random photoshoot that isn't the lead star with another dude "fucking"...make more interesting for the person on the other end.
To answer the other questions...I don't think they are stupid, some just lack creativity...and others should find a new profession. And I commend anyone who puts their "goods" out there like that. But for reasons other than just "i like sex". Make it more than that. Maybe you see it as more as a business venture and you can foresee an empire in the making.
